Picton Gorse (009)

Picton Gorse, built by Tim, is based on small narrow gauge railway running through Cheshire, servicing a gravel pit, farm and various other agricultural produce...

It started out as a simple roundy/ roundy in 2016 on a board measuring 34cm x 26cm and has slowly grown in size. The boards were ideal and left over from a work related project. They could be attached easily and form an expansive modular railway. The other good thing was that he could work on one board at a time and then neatly pack them away in a plan chest. Tim was very interested it creating a layout that ran from one location to another and did a journey, even if not far in distance.

He was also keen to allow the layout to grow and potentially add more and more boards in the future, which has happened over the past 18 months. The curves are tight and only allow 0-4-0 locomotives to work the line. This was an attempt to recreate the tight corners and uneven track associated with light industrial settings.
